This is a portion of branding and identity package I created for "Unfinished Business: Race and Equity in America", a three-day virtual conference. A summit that brought together America’s brightest thinkers, political leaders, public servants, academic experts, celebrities, and executives across a range of industries that discussed racial inequality in America. Organized by Arnold Schwarzenegger held by Twitch, ATTN: and the University of Southern California.
The brand identity was designed to be inclusive, friendly, and approachable—qualities essential for a summit centered on racial discrimination and equity in America. At the heart of the branding is a raised fist, symbolizing solidarity, resistance, and the fight for justice across all races. The visual language draws inspiration from revolutionary propaganda posters, with the fist serving as a recognizable emblem of collective power. The logotype’s font was intentionally selected to echo typefaces used in retro African American cinema, subtly reinforcing the summit’s deeper focus on anti-Black discrimination. While the event addressed issues faced by multiple racial groups, the primary discussions centered on the experiences of African Americans, which is reflected in the typographic choice. The color palette was developed to evoke a rainbow spectrum—representing racial diversity—while also maintaining a playful, energetic tone in alignment with Twitch’s brand, as they co-sponsored and hosted the event.

From the outset, I knew we would incorporate an empowered fist as a central visual element. I explored multiple design directions and went through several rounds of review before arriving at a solution that resonated with all stakeholders. Above is a sampling of the concepts I developed and presented throughout the process, with version 6 ultimately selected as the final direction.
